Tour Description
The Uchal Festival is the summer harvest celebration of the ancient Kalash people — a deeply spiritual and joyous event held every August in the Kalash valleys of Chitral. Raikot Tours’ Uchal Festival Tour gives you a privileged front-row seat to this extraordinary cultural ceremony, combining the Kalash experience with the scenic beauty of the Hindu Kush mountains.
During Uchal, the Kalash celebrate the ripening of crops with communal prayers, offerings to Dezao (their supreme deity), traditional dances, and music. Women wear their finest black robes and elaborate headdresses, while the valleys fill with the sound of drums and singing. It is a living tradition unlike anything else in the world.
