K2 (8,611m) — the “Savage Mountain” — is the second-highest peak on earth and unquestionably the most dangerous. Raikot Tours’ K2 Expedition is offered to only the most elite and experienced high-altitude mountaineers. With a fatality rate historically higher than any other 8,000-metre peak, K2 is the ultimate test of mountaineering skill, endurance, and psychological strength.
Located on the Pakistan-China border in the heart of the Karakoram, K2 is approached via the classic Baltoro Glacier route from Askole. The standard route is the Abruzzi Spur on the South-Southeast Ridge — a long, technically demanding climb with no rest and constant exposure to objective hazards including serac fall, avalanche, and extreme altitude. Expedition Itinerary Overview
Days 1–4: Islamabad. Ministry of Tourism permits, liaison officer, medical examinations, team briefing and equipment verification.
Days 5–6: Fly or drive to Skardu. Final gear organisation and team meetings.
Day 7: Jeep convoy from Skardu to Askole — the last village before the glacier wilderness.
Days 8–13: Trek from Askole via Jhola, Payu, Urdukas, and Goro II to K2 Base Camp (5,150m) at the foot of the Abruzzi Spur.
Days 14–25: Base camp establishment. Acclimatisation rotations on the lower Abruzzi Spur. Establish Camp 1 (6,100m).
Days 26–40: Establish Camp 2 (6,700m) — House’s Chimney section. Camp 3 (7,300m) — the Black Pyramid.
Days 41–55: Establish Camp 4 (7,800m — Shoulder). Multiple high-camp rotations for full acclimatisation.
Days 56–65: Summit window monitoring. Summit push from Camp 4 via the Bottleneck couloir (8,200m) to the summit (8,611m). Controlled descent.
Days 66–70: Base camp breakdown. Return trek to Askole. Drive to Skardu. Return to Islamabad. Expedition concludes.
